Step into a world of whimsy and wonder--the Cirque du Sanctuary--where acrobats flitter about, the marching band coaxes you to the dance floor, and vegan food tantalizes your tastebuds!
Cirque du Sanctuary supports Rancho Compasion’s 10 years of providing sanctuary for rescued farmed animals, educational and community programs for at-risk and local youth, and a holistic farm-to-table organic garden program.

An evening of fun, flirtation, and fire-roasted vegan pizza for solos looking for hot connections of all kinds!
Mother's Day Brunch
Spoil your mother (or your friend's mother) to a delicious, vegan brunch prepared by Chef Miyoko in our beautiful vineyard overlooking the sanctuary. Be prepared to be transported together to a blissful culinary paradise while enjoying the company of other like-minded "kids and moms." Miyoko will be cooking largely from our garden, supplemented with fresh pastries, innovative plant-milk cheeses, and much more. Food, drinks, and champagne are all included.
Arrive at 11:00 for a quick sactuary tour, then either hitch a ride or take a short hike (5 to 7 minutes) up to the vineyard. Enjoy the tranquility, stunning setting, and fabulous food!
The Animal Run - 5k & 10k Run
Run for Rancho! Bring your pup and kids and join us for the 9th annual Animal Run in support of Rancho Compasion. The Animal Run's vegan foot races raise funds for various animal welfare organizations, helping them save the lives of, find homes for, heal and comfort animal residents in need. Animal Run encourages athletes to support vegan businesses that promote human health and a thriving world.

Garden to Table Dinner
Enjoy a six-course menu created by Miyoko who will be cooking from the sanctuary's organic Compassion Garden. Sit at a long-table with other like-minded people and make new friends while having your tastebuds tantalized with a delectable, rustic farm dinner. Kicking off with hand-crafted cheeses and cocktails, it will progress with each course featuring something from the garden. The exact menu will be announced two weeks before the event, as it will depend on what is available.
Roots, Blooms, & Mushrooms: A Garden & Cultivation Workshop
Join us at the sanctuary for an exploration of fungi and mushrooms. Dive into the world of fungi cultivation and sustainable gardening. Learn how fungi help your plants (and soil) grow in addition to producing delicious mushrooms. Talk with members of Bay Area Applied Mycology about how to bolster natural processes at home and also exciting, larger-scale uses for fungi.
What’s in store:
• Mushroom Display: Discuss locally growing fungi, as well as their habitats and ecosystem roles. Learn fascinating insights into these natural treasures.

The Sanctuary of Spooks! Family Halloween Event
Our Halloween fest for families is back with a spooky haunted barn, costume catwalk, pumpkin carving, snacks & treats, and of course, resident meet & greets. Costumes encouraged! Bring a blanket and vegan picnic to enjoy in the meadow!
Our cobweb-covered gates open from 12:00-3:00pm, so families can come or leave at any time.
No walk-ins. Once we sell out, we can add you to our waitlist and may notify you if there are cancellations.
The Main Events:
The Costume Catwalk! The Categories are: Rancho Compasión Animal Residents (see images), Spooky, Cute, and Wacky-Quacky . All guests can participate!
Pumpkin Carving Contest & the Pumpkin Toss: Think you’ve got the chops to wow our judges? Come up with your best jack-o-lanterns at our pumpkin carving station, and at the end of the event, we’ll present your carved pumpkins to our pigs and other residents (aka, the Judges) and let them decide the winner–by whichever one they eat first!
DIY Screen Printing: Bring a cotton t-shirt, bib, blankie, canvas tote, or anything else you want to have custom screen-printed!
Harvest Hoedown - Annual Fundraiser

We’ll have music, a comedian, and inspirational speakers. And the food — how about some homemade vegan ribs (even piggies love them!) and some down-home potato salad and more?

Mother's Day Vineyard Brunch

Event Schedule
The event will begin at 11am for a tour of the sanctuary, which will end at the vineyard at noon for a delicous meal, designed and prepared by our founder, Chef Miyoko Schinner, to be concluded at 2pm.

Enjoy your vegan picnic in our lovely meadow or under the redwood trees, knowing that every time we choose to eat a plant-based meal, we are taking a stand for the health of our Earth, her climate, and her animal inhabitants. At Rancho Compasión, we think that's something worth celebrating!
Rancho Compasión is a fully vegan organization and property, all food and beverages brought to and consumed on the premises must be completely plant-based (meaning containing no animal dairy, eggs, honey, flesh, or other secretions).

Compassionate Valentine's Day
Let Love Roam this Valentine’s Day - Grab your sweetie (or bestie!) and join us for a unique Valentine’s Day experience at Rancho Compasión!
We will start with a tour of the sanctuary, where you can meet some of our residents, enjoy the beautiful land, and learn more about what happens here. The tour will end in the barn, where you will share a delicious dinner for two, designed and prepared by Chef Miyoko Schinner. The menu will consist of:
Appetizers featuring Miyoko’s newest cheese recipes - you will be some of the first to try them!
A main course of Winter White Porcini Lasagna, portioned for two, and a fresh salad made from vegetables from our on-site education garden
Dessert featuring chocolate, of course!
Wine
Rufus and friends will be our dinner dates, making this a Valentine’s Day you’ll never forget! Spots are limited, so get your tickets before they are gone! Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit our animal residents and growing youth education programs.

Volunteer Project Party!
We have our first project party of the year coming up on March 18th! We need to clean this place up in preparation for tours and events, plus, we're giving the residents an extra pasture! 🤩
Please tell your friends or family who have been wanting to come out here. Ideally folks can stay for the whole time, but you can also just come for the first or last 2.5 hours.
We’ll be working HARD—this is going to be physical labor, rain or shine! We’ll be stretching fencing, pounding t-posts, laying down gravel, cleaning debris, and more.
Bring sturdy shoes or waterproof boots, layers, rain clothes if needed, and a filled water bottle.
