Halloween S-mooo-ctacular

Our 2nd annual Halloween fest for families with children under 12 is back with a costume catwalk, pumpkin carving, haunted house, snacks & treats, and of course, resident meet & greets. Everyone gets to go home with vegan chocolates and candies. Costumes extremely encouraged (see below for fun ideas to dress like RC animal residents!)

Our cobweb-covered gates open from 12:30-3:30, so families can come or leave at any time. This event is for families with children under 12, only. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. No walk-ins. Once we sell out, we can add you to our waitlist and may notify you if there are cancellations.

The Main Events:

  • The Cow-stume Catwalk! The Cow-tegories are: Rancho Compasión Animal Residents (see images), Spooky, Cute, and Wacky-Quacky . All guests can participate! (Have you had enough of our cow puns yet?)

  • Pumpkin Carving Contest & the Pumpkin Toss: Think you’ve got the chops to wow our judges? Come up with your best jack-o-lanterns at our pumpkin carving station, and at the end of the event, we’ll present your carved pumpkins to our pigs and other residents (aka, the Judges) and let them decide the winner–by whichever one they eat first!

Other activities:

  • a self-guided scavenger hunt

  • haunted house

  • aviary and barn resident meet-n-greets

  • “rooting around” like pigs for vegan candies

  • Crafts table

Please do not plan on feeding our residents anything from home, but if you would like to offer them vegetables or fruit, we’d be happy to offer them to our residents at their meal times. Please leave all non-human companion animals at home.
Closed-toed shoes are required.
