Rancho Hosts EVCA Summit

Rancho Compasion hosted the Emerging Venture Capital Association on April 27th and 28th for almost 300 participants.  EVCA founder and Board Member Adam Dawkins wanted these young entrepreneurs to have the opportunity to visit an animal sanctuary in order to help plant the seed for investing in humane and socially responsible start-ups.

This is the first time in Rancho Compasion’s history that our beautiful property has been used as a venue.  It was a great experience for everyone but it took some improvements on our end to get the Sanctuary ready for such a large event.

Thanks to some great and timely work by Lunny Grading and Paving, a local contractor who also donated $5,000 towards the project, we extended and improved our parking area, graded some of our roads, created a large level pad by our garden to accommodate a 50’ x 50’ tent, and relocated our compost piles.

Thanks to a lot of hard work by our volunteers and EVCA the event was a resounding success.  Rancho Compasion is looking forward to hosting more events in the future as a means to raise funds for our non-profit sanctuary.
